Bromma spreaders for RWG

Swedish spreader manufacturer, Bromma, has won an order from DP World to supply 52 yard spreaders for its new Rotterdam World Gateway (RWG) terminal.

Bromma's spreaders will be fitted to automatic stacking cranes

The company will supply DP World with 52 of its YSX45 single lift hydraulic spreaders, which have been designed to provide high lifting capacity with a low nominal tare weight. The yard spreaders, which will be fitted to automatic stacking cranes, will be delivered with a headblock which is automated through micro-motion.

Vikram Raman, vice president and commercial director, Bromma, said: “We are pleased to have been awarded this strategically important Rotterdam World Gateway order. An automated terminal is no place to experiment with a spreader, and so we are gratified that leading new transshipment centres continue to choose Bromma spreaders to achieve their productivity goals.”

RWG is due to begin operations in July 2013 and Bromma is expected to deliver all 52 spreaders to RWG by September 2014.

Bromma has also won an order from DP World to supply its Brisbane terminal and London Gateway project with container weight verification packages.
