The programme invites stakeholders to reserve ammonia storage and cracking capacity at VTTI’s terminals in Rotterdam and Antwerp.

“Hydrogen is central to the energy transition, and the strategic location of our terminals in Rotterdam and Antwerp gives us unparalleled potential to lead in this space,” said Guy Moeyens, CEO, VTTI.

”With the launch of this Open Season, we are taking a bold step towards creating a hydrogen hub that will drive Europe’s decarbonisation goals and empower a sustainable energy future.”

Hydrogen economy

Project Amplifhy reinforces VTTI’s commitment to alternative fuels, positioning itself as a leader in the sustainable energy transition and the development of Europe’s hydrogen market.

Designated a Project of Common Interest by the European Commission, Amplifhy has received €11.6 million in EU co-funding for its Rotterdam site and is seeking additional support for its Antwerp facility.

By developing advanced ammonia import terminals and cracking capacity, VTTI is playing a key role in delivering alternative fuels for the EU’s RePowerEU and Fitfor55 strategies.

Interested parties can participate by submitting non-binding expressions of interest by 28 February 28 2025. More information is available on VTTI’s website.
