GWADAR
DP World has shown interest in the Gwadar Port Implementation Authority, set up to launch the Chinese-built Gwadar port in Pakistan. DP World hopes to secure a container terminal operating concession in Gwadar, which has long been designated to run as a freeport and will have the deepest navigation channel in the country.
These include NYK, MOL, CMA CGM, PSA, HPH, Evergreen, Container Corporation of India, Larsen & Toubro and Gammon India. A contract is expected to be awarded in September or October.
Gwadar is currently hiring consultants to map out future expansion.
