Able Humber Port in HGV electric charging hub ‘first’

The groundbreaking project, set to open in  November 2024, aims to accelerate port electrification and promote the adoption of electric vehicles in the logistics and transport sectors, contributing to a greener future.

Partnership project

Milence, a joint venture by Daimler Truck, Volvo Group and Traton Group, will develop the EHGV charging hub.

The initial phase will feature four high-performance Combined Charging Systems (CCS) chargers for eight bays and one Megawatt Charging System (MCS) charger for two bays. Additional amenities such as a lounge, food, and beverages will also be available. 

AHP’s hub is part of a larger development plan that includes over one kilometre of new heavy-duty, deepwater quays, providing access to AHP and the neighbouring Able Energy Park (AEP).
