Cavotec inks major shorepower deal
Cavotec has inked a US$5 million shore power deal with a global shipping company.
The order includes a substantial number of PowerFit shore power units, which are scheduled for delivery later this year.
“This partnership with a global shipping company is yet another confirmation of the strength of our offering,” said Patrick Mares, president of Ports & Maritime Division at Cavotec.
“Our innovative shore power systems contribute to the decarbonisation of ports worldwide as well as quieter port environments.”
Cavotec’s PowerFit units are complete containerised solutions for high voltage vessel connections and include all necessary equipment, namely a PowerAMPReel, high voltage switchboard, control panel, high/low voltage transformer and other auxiliary systems.
The company says it is at the forefront of shore power solutions and services with more systems installed around the world that any other provider. Its solutions are used on board cruise ships, container ships, and RoPax and RoRo ferries.
