Cavotec unveils advanced shorepower

The new system builds on Cavotec’s established PowerMove technology, already deployed in more than 30 ports worldwide to help reduce emissions by enabling vessels to connect to onshore electricity supplies.

PowerMove RoRo NxG features a redesigned platform that enhances flexibility, simplifies operation and integrates a new digital architecture. Its updated dispenser design, telescopic boom and mechanical structure allow for improved positioning accuracy across a broader range of vessel configurations.

Operational efficiency is increased through a radio remote control, enabling a single operator to manage the full connection process. The system also incorporates a redesigned human-machine interface with intuitive navigation, real-time feedback and integrated troubleshooting tools.

Standardisation of core components is expected to improve spare parts availability, streamline maintenance and lower lifecycle costs.

The system has already been delivered to the Port of Portoferraio, with installations planned at four additional ports.
