Partnership drives global port electrification

Over the past 14 years, Conductix-Wampfler has provided APM Terminals with 413 energy supply systems for electric RTGs, both new and retrofitted, and 116 battery systems.

APM Terminals has committed to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040. Its main strategy involves converting fossil-fuelled port equipment to battery-electric container handling machinery and transitioning to 100% renewable energy by 2030 for its Scope 2 emissions.

The company has already executed large-scale ‘diesel-to-electric’ conversions at terminals worldwide, replacing diesel-powered cranes with electric alternatives and investing in renewable energy such as solar power to supply clean electricity to its facilities.
