August has heralded some brand new products to the market, all of which claim to save port and terminal operators time and money.

Cradles

Martin Engineering has launched a new high speed impact cradle designed to reduce roller and frame damage from heavy conveyor loading operations.

The EVO High Speed Impact Cradle is designed to reduce failures and service requirements, using Martin’s Trac-mount technology to slide in and out easily for maintenance. The modular component can be easily removed by hand, which is a clear improvement on older style frames which can prove difficult to remove.

Floodlights

Hella Marine has a new ultra heavy AS 5000 LED floodlight specifically geared towards commercial vessel needs. The new lamps provide effective illumination while drawing 60W or 5 amps at 12V and 2.5 amps at 24V.

The lamp operates effectively even in extreme temperatures, thanks to integrated thermanl protection of the electrical components and will endure common hazards such as vibration, shock and high impact.

LED lighting

Phoenix Products has partnered with two new distributors, Liftcom in Europe and Portek Systems & Equipment in Southeast Asia, in order to expand the market for its LED lighting range in the regions.

Phoenix says that energy costs alone may be reduced by up to 70% with its range of lighting. Given their ability to withstand extreme vibration, the company says that Phoenix lighting fixtures have a proven track record of long service life, saving on replacement costs.
