Cavotec secures €7m shorepower orders

The orders, received at the end of 2024 and worth €7 million, underscore Italy’s commitment to transitioning to more environmentally friendly port operations.

The first order involves the delivery of Cavotec’s PowerMove and PowerFeed systems to support cruise vessels across multiple ports in western Italy. This project aims to enhance shorepower connectivity, marking a strategic milestone for sustainable cruising in the Mediterranean.

The second order will see the installation of Cavotec’s PowerMove technology for both cruise and RoRo vessels in Tuscany, helping two ports cut emissions and improve environmental performance.

The third order includes two PowerMove systems for connecting cruise vessels and a PowerExtend system for container ships at a southern Italy port, further emphasising the expanding role of shorepower solutions for various vessel types.

Scheduled for delivery between early and mid-2026, these projects will significantly reduce emissions and improve air quality in Italian ports.
