Environmental good practice agreement in Algeciras
The Port Authority of Algeciras Bay and Compañía Logística de Hidrocarburos (CLH) have signed an environmental good practices agreement.
The agreement complements the Environmental Management System implemented by CLH at its storage facility in Algeciras, which holds ISO 14001certification.
CLH, which is the leading Spanish company in the market for the transportation and storage of oil products, accepts with this agreement to carry out regular checks that will be accredited by an independent agency, to certify that the strict controls established by law are complied with, and in addition to implement environmental improvement programmes. The Port Authority will, for its part, apply appropriate discounts on port dues in accordance with the Law governing State Ports and the Merchant Navy, which was approved in 2011.
CLH storage terminal in Algeciras Port is the most important plant the company dedicates to store and move maritime diesel and intermediate fuel oil used as marine fuel, and a prominent one in Europe.
