Get in the know at GreenPort Congress

By attending, delegates, both in person and virtual, will be able to take home key messages on green strategy to align their business with global sustainability targets.

This is the first time that GreenPort Cruise & Congress will be held both in-person and live streamed.

In a packed programme, the 2021 conference, titled ‘Advancing the Green Deal Through Collaboration’ will cover a range of presentations including; Greening of Ports and Shipping including alternative fuel project, Sustainable development – local and global initiatives for common advantage, Powering Ports – Energy efficiency improvements and on-shore power supply and The Green Deal – moving forward with green logistics.

Something for everyone

This year the opening keynote address will be from Isabelle Ryckbost, Secretary General, European Sea Ports Organisation who will set the scene and focus on The Political Agenda of European Ports.

Additional keynotes include Wallenius Wilhelmsen and MSC Cruises discussing policy, the challenges of decarbonisation and the future of LNG. As well as FEPORT, IAPH and Port of Newcastle on decarbonisation and digitalisation of ports and Sustainable Finance.

The first day (Wednesday 20 October) is largely dedicated to cruise, where Laurent Dupuis – VP Product Management ShorePower, Cavotec will be presenting on ’A sustainable future: developments in Green Cruise Terminal Projects’.

But as well as cruise, there is also a cargo handling stream strating in the afternoon where Lars Martin Greiner, Associate Partner Responsible for MEA Region, Hamburg Port Consulting will be presenting virtually on the role of ports in the hydrogen supply chain.

On day two, (Thursday 21 October) cargo handling operations come to the fore.

Dimitris Spyrou, EU Projects Consultant, Strategic Planning & Marketing dpt, Piraeus Port Authority will be delivering a presentation on ‘Digitalization tools and technologies to support environmental sustainability in ports: the GREEN C-PORTS and PIXEL projects.’
