The Banten, northwest Java port is being developed as an alternative to Tanjung Priok restricted by the Indonesian capital surrounding it.

According to the Israel Ports Development & Assets Co, a private operator will be appointed for the Ashdod Eitan Port B development project which encompasses three new terminals to be built to the north of the existing port at Eitan. This project, which was originally known as Jubilee Port B, will open in 2012 at a cost of US$319m.
