Adani eyes Brisbane lease
The offer of a 99-year lease for the Port of Brisbane has attracted the interest of Indian billionaire Gautam Adani.
The Adani group’s interest in port holdings is mainly on India’s west coast, but it has already established Queensland connections by winning a contract to examine the feasibility of new coal port developments at Dudgeon Point, near the Dalrymple Bay and Hay Point terminals.
Other interested parties in the lease include Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners, Unisuper and a syndicate involving Global Infrastructure Partners, Queensland Investment Corporation and Macquarie Capital.
