Botany working group aids turnaround times
The inception of the Patrick Port Botany working group has seen the terminal exceed several key operating measures consistently over a four-week period, according to Patrick parent Asciano.
With the port under close government scrutiny for its landside performance, Asciano reported that in a week in November the Patrick terminal handled 6,606 trucks with turnaround times averaging under 37 minutes. In a comparable period the terminal handled 1000 more trucks and achieved a 40% improvement on turnaround times compared with last year. Asciano said dwell times had fallen and greater use was being made of 24/7 vehicle booking slots.
