A new modular mobile shore power solution

PowerAlign, launched at TOC 2025, is engineered to deliver safe, efficient and reliable shore power connections – all while maintaining the operational flexibility container ports require.

The system offers up to 140 m of coverage from a single unit, with the option to extend reach by adding additional modules.

“It brings a flexible, compact and future-ready shore power solution to container ports that are under increasing pressure to reduce emissions without compromising performance.”

Purpose-built

Unlike fixed installations that can limit crane and cargo handling operations, PowerAlign keeps the quay clear thanks to its low-profile socket box and compact footprint of less than 3.5 m².

The system’s enclosed cable reel, mounted at the quay edge, ensures extended cable life and minimal maintenance – a major advantage in space-constrained and high-traffic terminals.

PowerAlign can be installed on new or existing berths.and complies with IEC 80005-1, supporting up to 16 kA/s.

This news comes hot on the back of Cavotec winning a major cruise shore power order for the Port of Antwerp-Bruges worth approximately €1.55 million.
