The order has been signed with ferry operator Molslinjen A/S for MoorMaster NxG systems at Odden and Aarhus, serving one of Denmark’s busiest routes.

“We are proud to continue our collaboration with Molslinjen. This order reflects the important role of automated mooring for the electrification of ferry operations”, said David Pagels, CEO of Cavotec.

Fully automated

The automated vacuum mooring technology will fully automate vessel mooring, precisely positioning battery-powered catamarans for fast shore connection and reliable charging.

By enabling rapid charging, the solution supports decarbonised ferry operations, aligns with Denmark’s green transport goals, and strengthens port automation while lowering port emissions.

Delivery is scheduled for the third quarter of 2027, expanding a long-standing collaboration as MoorMaster systems already operate at Ballen, Kalundborg, Spodsbjerg, Taars, Bøjden, and Fynshav.

The MoorMaster NxG deployment will support high-capacity battery-powered catamarans, keeping vessels precisely positioned to ensure consistent connections at the ports of Odden and Aarhus.

This order, valued at approximately EUR 2 million, underlines the role of vessel mooring technology in modern electric ferry services on Denmark’s busiest ferry route.

With systems already operating across multiple Danish locations, the agreement further embeds automated mooring as a practical tool for efficient operations and reduced port emissions.

The project reinforces Cavotec’s focus on port automation, supporting reliable charging, operational efficiency and the continued electrification of ferry operations across key Danish ports, serving Molslinjen routes nationwide.
