Bulk handling fleet goes hybrid

The northern French logistics specialist, which manages around one million tonnes of cargo annually, introduced the hybrid port equipment to support growing demand for waterway-based freight operations.

Green logistics

Based in Beugny, Pas-de-Calais, Société Gras focuses on complex logistics flows involving both road and inland waterway transport, handling bulk cargo, palletised freight and industrial products.

The company has relied on SENNEBOGEN equipment for several years and currently operates around 15 material handling machines in the 50-70 tonne category.

The latest addition, the SENNEBOGEN 850 G Hybrid, has a reach of up to 21 metres and is designed for intensive loading and unloading operations in port environments.

According to the company, the machine’s Green Hybrid energy recovery system can reduce fuel consumption by around 30%, supporting improved port efficiency and lower operational emissions.

The system captures and reuses energy generated during deceleration, helping operators lower fuel usage during daily handling activities.

French SENNEBOGEN sales partner Sygmat is supporting the deployment through commissioning and long-term maintenance services.
