Green spreader dominance
Bromma is continuing to further its reach in the crane equipment market helped largely by its dominance in the green all-electric spreader sector.
Although the spreader expert has seen orders slightly down on last year, it has seen deliveries up 32% from the corresponding period in 2014. In addition, its mix of Yard/STS spreader orders has bounced back to a long term average.
Yard spreaders make up the majority of the deliveries with some of the larger orders including 24 YSX45E for London World Gateway, UK, 24 YSX40E for Evergreen Kaohsiung, Taiwan and 20 YSX45 for Georgia Ports Authority, USA.
“I am particularly happy to see that we have received many orders for Yard spreaders”, said Vikram Raman, commercial director at Bromma. “We have an excellent product portfolio where our all-electric spreaders represents the majority of the orders.”
Bromma has also seen increased interest from North America where efficiency is top of the agenda due to increased environmental regulation. Mr Raman told GreenPort that the continent is a great “area of opportunity” for the company.
Regulation has caused a move towards eco-friendly transport with the biggest going for all electric STS fleets.
“Because 90% of our spreaders are all electric now. This has a knock on effect on the whole industry, less emissions, easier maintenance and less noise, Lars Meurling, VP marketing, Bromma, told GP.
Bromma is focused on lifting the productivity of its customers through more reliable spreaders, and Bromma’s industry-leading all-electric Greenline™ spreaders and recent Green Zone™ port productivity applications such as Roadmap™, Fleet Doctor™ and Work Order™, are all part of this continued effort.
