Offshore wind staging port deal
Skanska has signed a contract with the Virginia Port Authority to rebuild part of the Portsmouth Marine Terminal in Portsmouth, Virginia, US.
The project will redevelop approximately 72 acres (29 ha) of the 287-acre (116 ha) Portsmouth Marine Terminal for use as an offshore wind staging port, improving 1,500 feet (457 metres) of an existing 3,540-foot (1,052 metre) wharf.
The redevelopment of the marine terminal supports the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind project said to be the largest offshore wind project of its kind in the US.
Skanska will include the contract worth US$223 million in the US order bookings for the third quarter of 2022.
Construction began in July 2022 with completion scheduled for 2025.
