The UK’s drive towards maritime decarbonisation

Maritime UK Solent’s inaugural Coastal Powerhouse Summit 2025 aims to drive discussions on the energy transition and the Solent region’s future in global maritime innovation.

Green focus

Taking place on 26 and 27 March at Southampton’s Ocean Terminal, event discussions will focus on port sustainability, maritime decarbonisation and clean maritime technologies.

Day one will feature a session on advancements in sustainable shipping solutions led by Jamie Holmes, NASH Maritime and a session on the role of automation in shaping the future of maritime operations led by Dan Hook, RAD Propulsion.

The panel discussion will be on port sustainability and led by ABP. This discussion will highlight the critical role of port infrastructure in achieving maritime decarbonisation.

In the afternoon, there will be a focus on ABP’s Energy Ventures Accelerator (EVA) programme featuring keynote speeches from industry leaders sharing cutting-edge insights into maritime decarbonisation strategies.

ABP’s EVA programme seeks to help promising startups scale their businesses in high-growth energy sectors, such as hydrogen, floating wind and low-carbon fuels.

Day two of the event will focus on talent development and trade, with talks on apprenticeships and mentoring to secure a skilled workforce for the future.
