Wave power pilot marks milestone

The company confirmed that all milestones outlined in the 2024 Pilot Test Agreement have been achieved, with a final report submitted to Shell.

“This project proves not only that our technology works, but that it can be deployed efficiently and responsibly,” said founder and chief executive of Eco Wave Power, Inna Braverman. “We are delivering clean energy where it is needed most – close to shore, near population and industrial centres.”

The pilot covered the full lifecycle of development, from feasibility through to real-world operation under marine conditions. According to Eco Wave Power, the system operated successfully with total capital expenditure below US$1 million and no significant environmental impact.

The project was fully permitted and demonstrated deployment using existing coastal infrastructure, avoiding the need for seabed anchoring or offshore construction.

The milestone strengthens Eco Wave Power’s positioning as a scalable, low-cost renewable energy solution. It also aligns with rising global electricity demand driven by artificial intelligence and data infrastructure. The company’s technology was recently featured during a keynote by Jensen Huang at the NVIDIA GTC, highlighting its relevance to emerging AI-powered energy ecosystems.

“Wave energy can play a central role in powering the next generation of digital infrastructure,” said Braverman.

The collaboration builds on earlier feasibility work identifying 77 viable US coastal sites. Eco Wave Power says the Los Angeles installation will now serve as a reference project and demonstration site, supporting regulatory approaches and future commercial-scale deployments worldwide.
