Liebherr’s new Pactronic hydraulic hybrid-drive for mobile harbour cranes promises increased handling performance and reduced fuel consumption.
Characterised by an energy storage device, a hydraulic accumulator supplements the fluid pump in delivering power to the system. This serves as a pressure storage reservoir incorporating a gas in conjunction with a hydraulic fluid which can be released upon demand.
The unit also acts as a power booster, reducing both hoist and lowering times.
