To build the system, Pelindo III has ordered 11 ARTG cranes, Remote Operating Stations and container yard automation infrastructure from Konecranes with delivery planned for 2015.

Pelindo III is extending its Terminal Petikemas Semarang (TPKS) in Semarang, Central Java.

Janne Eklund, sales manager, Konecranes/Port Cranes Konecranes commented that the manufacturer is currently the only company that can offer an automated RTG system.

The complete system is made up of all-electric Konecranes 16-wheel RTGs with Active Load Control and GPS Autosteering, Remote Operating Stations, truck guidance systems, intelligent gates for the container stacks, an interface for miscellaneous container yard infrastructure, automation software, and TRUCONNECT remote services
