Liebherr crane supports heavy lifting
One UK port has invested in a Liebherr Crawler Crane with capable of heavy lifting and handling to enable it to process goods more quickly.
The Liebherr LTR 1220 Crawler Crane has been delivered to the Peel Ports Group (PPG) operated Port of Liverpool as part of the ongoing partnership between Briggs Equipment and Peel Ports Group (PPG). The crane will be used by Peel Ports in the Heavy Lift area of the docks.
Phil Hall, commercial & unitised cargo director (Mersey Ports) at Peel Ports Group, said: “With their extensive experience, the highly-specialised heavy lift team can turn their hand to any number of unusual lifting operations. The niche offering complements a comprehensive, first class service at the Port of Liverpool, which supports the recent addition of new services and further growth.”
Handling heavy cargo
The core function of the crane will involve handling customers’ heavy cargo and the wide variety of goods that arrive each day. The crane’s comprehensive functionality will enable Peel Ports to process goods more quickly and continue providing its customers with a reliable and competitive service.
