The company has signed a USD100m contract alongside Geocean SAS for the fabrication, engineering and project management of a subsea mooring and riser system, which will serve Summit LNG Terminal’s US$500m floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) on Moheshkhali Island in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh.

"We are convinced about MacGregor's ability to successfully carry out this demanding project with its experience in providing innovative subsea mooring and riser system solutions as well as managing demanding projects," said ANM Tariqur Rashid, managing director of Summit LNG Terminal, a subsidiary of Summit Power International.

The FRSU will be provided by Excelerate Energy and will supply 500m cubic feet of gas a day. It will be ready for operation during the first quarter of 2019.

MacGregor will supply equipment including Flintstone mooring connectors and will deliver the complete mooring and riser system in the fourth quarter of 2018.

“This order demonstrates our customer's trust in us to help it secure an improved power-supply infrastructure for Bangladesh,” commented Michel van Roozendaal, president at MacGregor.
