This is your opportunity to join Working Groups to discuss and debate key issues with experts from across the sector.

The new format at this year’s GreenPort Congress will give delegates the oportunity to join Working Groups to discuss and debate potential solutions to the pertinent issues affecting ports and terminals today. The four main topics to be covered are:

• Air quality management in Ports
• Waste and materials management in port areas
• Managing the direct impact on the local community
• Environmental reporting and communication

Following the themes of the ESPO Green Guide – Exemplify, Enable, Engage, Encourage and Enforce, each session will start with two plenary keynote speeches; an overview and a state of play presentation. The session will then breakdown into three working groups which will involve all sectors of the port community: port authorities, port users (terminal operators, logistics companies, shippers, shipping lines etc) and suppliers of equipment and services to the port community. The findings of each group will then be presented by the group moderators to the rest of the audience in a plenary session.

Each session will be moderated by environmental specialists and highlights from the programme include:

* Thomas Verheye, European Commission, DG Environment: The review of the EU Air Policy framework
* Antoine Kedzierski, Transport & Environment:The role of ports in enforcing environmental legislation
* Hendrik Hollstein, Environmental Strategist, Hamburg Port Authority: Sulphur free fuel for port authority vessels
