Five new Nigerian ports planned

Nigeria is to build five new ports at Onitsha, Idah, Dekina, Lokoja and Baro in Niger state. They are said to be needed to tackle the perennial problem of congestion at existing terminals in Lagos, where containers remain an average of 28 days in the stacking yard because of problems with customs clearance.
