Fraud uncovered in Apapa

APM Terminals claims to have uncovered fraud worth $153,000 involving six customs agents working at its Apapa terminal in Nigeria.

The company accuses them of trying to remove containers using forged documentation. All cases have been referred to the local police. The customs agents were using documentation carrying APM Terminals logos and letterheads. Earlier, the terminal operator had warned consignees to check all paperwork prior to release containers because of the threat of fraud.
