Kalmar integrates South Africa operations

Kalmar has agreed to merge the service business of its South African service partner African National Engineering into Kalmar Industries South Africa (Pty) Ltd, the local subsidiary company established earlier this year in Durban and headed by Edwin Briggeman.

Kalmar Industries South Africa (Pty) Ltd will be responsible for the sales and service of straddle carriers, RTG cranes and terminal tractors, while other Kalmar products, for example, reachstackers and lift trucks, will continue to be sold through existing partner Saficon.

Kalmar believes that the merger of ANE’s service business for Kalmar straddle carriers and RTG cranes “secures Kalmar’s commitment to South African Port Operations as a full service partner and also forms a solid basis for further business development in South Africa”
