Mombasa privatisation hurdle overcome
An application by the Mombasa Republican Council to stop Kenya Ports Authority going ahead with the privatisation of the port has failed.
The application argued before a judge that the process should be postponed pending further negotiations, that the government needs to make further consultation, and that the move would lead to 1,500 job losses.
However, it was declined given insufficient grounds.
