Namibia upgrades Walvis Bay
Namibia Ports Authority is to deepen the draught of Walvis Bay to 15 metres, as well as adding bulk and break bulk handling facilities.
A floating dock is also proposed, along with an extension of the container terminal.
These form part of the 2008-2012 master plan developed by the organisation. A second container terminal is also proposed, which will eventually have capacity for 500,000 teu.
