NPA tariff increase declined

The NPA had initially requested a tariff increase of 14.2% for the 2013/14 tariff year but it then amended the application down to 5.4% due to the “non-finalisation” of the tariff methodology and the assumption that a multi year tariff application of CPI +3% (Consumer Price Index) would be submitted next year.

After reviewing the NPA’s application, the Ports Regulator ruled that tariffs are to be retained at the same level as for the 2012/13 tariff year.

Meanwhile, cargo dues for container full export are to be reduced by 43.2%, cargo dues for container full import are to be reduced by 14.3% and cargo dues for motor vehicles exported on own wheels (ro-ro) are to be reduced by 21.1%.
