SA Ports New Technology Goes Live

A cutting-edge automated gate is now in operation at the Pier 1 Container Terminal in Durban.

This is the first terminal in South Africa to introduce the high-tech system: operation will be ramped up over a two-month period as customers steadily adopt the new procedure

Currently trucks take in excess of 30 minutes to enter and exit the terminal when collecting or delivering cargo, but this could now be reduced to under 15 minutes.
