He cites privatised operations at Dar es Salaam in neighbouring Tanzania, where he believes congestion may be even worse. “We understand that some vessels are having to wait at anchor for up to 10 days at Dar es Salaam,which has prompted some services to switch to Mombasa. They also suffer from poor road and rail links, with all rail services still in government hands; whereas in Kenya they are already privatised.”
