Cartagena wins LNG award
The Port of Cartagena in Colombia has won ‘The Most Pro-Active Development of Ports’ LNG Infrastructure in the Mediterranean’ award at the Small-Scale LNG Summit.
Cartagena is set up for truck to ship deliveries and features an Enagás-operated LNG receiving terminal. Last year, Repsol completed its largest LNG bunkering operation using 11 LNG trucks at the port.
The ports of Gibraltar, Valencia, Madeira and Huelva were also shortlisted for the award.
Held to recognise the greatest achievements in the LNG industry, the Small-Scale LNG Summit awards are given to companies and individuals who have positively influenced the LNG Industry in every stage of the value chain.
Experts presented on topics including bunkering and LNG infrastructure. They included Airam Diaz Pastor, president/commercial director at MedCruise/ Ports of Tenerife; Rui Lopes, port security officer, LNG adviser at APRAM, S. A. (Madeira Ports); Valeria Mangiarotti, marketing manager/director of sustainability and environmental issues at Port Network Authority of the Sardinian Sea/ MedCruise; and Ruben Eiras, director general for maritime policy at Ministry of the Sea of Portugal.
The Small-Scale LNG Summit took place in Milan on 12 February. This is the second time the event has run.
