First LNG bunker delivery at Mukran Port

The company, which supplies marine and industrial users in North West Europe, made the delivery to the island of Rügen. It added that vessels requiring LNG can be supplied in German ports at prices below the price of marine gasoil.

“The approval process for obtaining clearance to bunker is becoming more standardized and approvals are received faster from the ports. LNG as a bunker fuel is gaining traction as the fuel itself, the financial and operational benefits are becoming well-known”, Jippe van Eijnatten, business development manager at Titan LNG commented.

Delivery of the LNG fuel was realised on short notice.

This month, Titan LNG has launched an in-house developed ‘Marine LNG Assessment Tool’, which provides support for shipping companies that are considering their options regarding future propulsion for their vessels.

Mukran Port is the most easterly located deepwater German port and is managed by port operator Fährhafen Sassnitz GmbH.

The multipurpose freight and passenger port provides around 430 hectares for its ferry, rail, multipurpose and offshore terminals.
