Offshore wind port project progresses

Seajacks Japan LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Seajacks International (Seajacks) has been awarded a contract with Kajima Corporation for the transport and installation of 33 MHI Vestas V117 – 4.2MW wind turbine generators at the Akita Port and Noshiro Port offshore wind farms.

Akita Offshore Wind Corporation’s project comprises the construction, operation and maintenance of the bottom-fixed offshore wind farms at Akita Port (13 x 4.2MW wind turbine) and Noshiro Port (20 x 4.2MW wind turbine) with approximately 140MW in total electric power to be sold to Tohoku Electric Power Co., Inc. for 20 years under a power purchase agreement (PPA) and also the onshore substation and transmission lines. Commercial operation is expected before the end of 2022.
