Carnegie reaches Cleantech final
Australian wave energy developer, Carnegie Wave Energy Limited, has reached the Top 30 semi-finals of the Global Cleantech Cluster Association’s (GCCA) ‘2012 Later Stage Award’.
The company is one of only two Australian cleantech companies to be shortlisted as a rising business in the industry. Chosen from an initial group of 4000 businesses, Carnegie has been chosen by the GCCA for its CETO wave energy technology which converts ocean wave energy into zero emissions electricity. It is also environmentally friendly and attracts marine life.
Ben Taube, chairman, GCCA, said: “Choosing 30 companies out of this year’s 200 nominations was an extremely competitive process. These Top 30 finalists represent a premier group of rising stars in the clean technology industry.”
The finalists were screened for investment grade using business and venture tool, Keystone Method. Over the next three months, they will be judged by 28 cleantech VCs, investors and entrepreneurs.
The winners of the 10 categories which include BioEnergy, Energy Storage and Hydropower will be announced in November at the Savannah International Clean Energy Conference.
