As for the key priorities when acquiring BI software, he says the focus should be firstly on what the port is trying to achieve.

“What KPIs and data are required? Is that information available in the disparate systems? Clarity at this point goes a long way in making sure the right solution is chosen – and when undertaking research, look for a compatible solution that’s capable of easily pulling in the data from the different systems and that’s flexible and scalable to meet the challenge of an ever-changing logistics environment.”
