Yilport promotes Blauert to CEO
Turkey’s Yilport Holding, part of the Yildirim Group, has appointed a new CEO in order to help realise its target of becoming one of the top ten international terminal operators.
Christian Blauert will take up his new position on 1 June 2016. He has a background of more than 20 years in the port industry, including the areas of automated and conventional terminal design, operational efficiency and management.
Yuksel Yildirim, Chairman of Yilport Holding, said: “We designated a strategy of solid growth and expansion at Yilport until 2025. I strongly believe that our new CEO, Christian Blauert will be the person to support and assist us in achieving our goals.”
Mr Blauert was behind the realisation of the HHLA Container Terminal Altenwerder, the operational management of the HHLA Container Terminal Burchardkai (both in Hamburg) and the management of Terminal Link (CMA CGM’s port and terminal operating unit) out of Marseilles.
He started work with Yilport in December 2015 as a consultant and in May 2016 was promoted as COO to work together with the former CEO, Sean Pierce.
Yilport is now on the look-out for a new COO and a senior terminal execution director.
