Hidden within a perfectly innocent cargo, adirty bomb is created by combining radioactive nuclear waste material andconventional explosives.
When the conventional explosive is detonated the subsequent explosion carries the nuclear waste material into the atmosphere, where it is subject to dispersal by wind and rain, with potential widespread contamination of a very large and indiscriminate target area.
