Kalmar innovations designed to speed stacking and automation

“The new machine is designed to feed automatic stacking cranes in high throughput mega-terminals where the ship-to-shore crane productivity has highest priority,” says Ilkka Annala, Kalmar’s vice president, straddle carriers. Kalmar has also expanded its automation product range by launching a new fleet control system called Fleetview, which can be used to monitor straddle carriers, reachstackers, forklifts, terminal tractors and RTGs. Fleetview is an addition to Kalmar’s range of automation tools which includes Smartrail, an auto steering and container position verification system, and Smartpath, a real-time container position verification system.
