PEMA 2019 student challenge announced
The Port Equipment Manufacturers Association has announced the PEMA Student Challenge theme question for 2019 is Exploring the drivers behind change: Defining the port of the future.
The PEMA Student Challenge is the only competition of its kind within the Ports and Terminals industry and is open to university students globally.
Each year the question focuses on a topical theme of the industry and challenges teams to come up with an implementable solution to the Student Challenge question.
In the first stage of the competition, teams are invited to submit a two-page (A4) preliminary abstract, outlining their solution. The deadline for submissions is 10 May.
The top three abstracts are selected by a panel of industry judges. The three finalist teams will be notified on 17 May and will be provided with a full brief for the final stage of the competition, which will involve presenting their full solution at the live Student Challenge final at TOC Europe in Rotterdam on 20 June.
The team that has performed best according to the judges will receive a prize of €1000 plus certificates for the winning team and runners-up.
