Shipping line terminal arms form alliance
The MoU between COSCO SHIPPING ports and CMA Terminals Holding shows that the container arms of the shipping lines are also allying themselves to each other, in addition to the shipping lines and opposing ports.
This MoU aims to reinforce the two parties’ strategic cooperation on port operations and investments and will see them cooperating at ports worldwide with preference given to ports where the Ocean Alliance calls.
With more than 40 maritime services and 323 ships, Ocean Alliance is the largest operational agreement ever made between shipping companies.
It offers 17 services on the Asian-Northern Europe, Mediterranean, Red Sea and Middle Eastern trade routes, with 23 services on the North American trade route, making it the number one Alliance in the Transpacific.
Since the establishment of the Ocean Alliance, the cooperation between COSCO SHIPPING Ports and CMA Terminals Holding has been moving even closer.
Both sides have said they wish to create more opportunities in global port investment and operation.
