Cargotec siblings launch integrated automation concept
Cargotec’s Kalmar and Navis have launched their OneTerminal solution as a means of integrating the specialist’s automation offerings for the port industry.
OneTerminal offers three ready-to-use concepts all based on the combination of Navis N4’s terminal operating system and Kalmar’s terminal logistic system TLS.
Ports and terminals can choose from automatic stacking crane, AutoStrad and AutoRTG terminal options; all benefit from one key contact and one core team.
Speaking at the launch of OneTerminal at TOC Europe in Rotterdam this week, Kalmar’s vice president, offering development Frank Kho said: “Kalmar has played a major role in almost 20 automation projects worldwide. So our integrated automation solution, OneTerminal is based on years of experience and knowledge; it’s our answer to meeting market trends and customer needs.”
Kalmar president Olli Isotalo added: “We believe that the port industry is at the start of the next big wave of automation. Kalmar and Navis, as global technology leaders in this field, are strongly contributing to this transformation and addressing the industry’s challenges.”
A OneTerminal project covers the automation of container handling equipment, control systems with Kalmar TLS software, Navis N4 TOS, as well as project services that will support the terminal through the design and implementation phases.
