Cranes for Manila

The cranes, which are being manufactured at the TPS facility in Xiamen, China, will be delivered at the end of 2014.

MNHPI, the largest port handling domestic cargo in the Philippines, already has four Terex RTG cranes which have been in operation since summer 2013.

The new order is in response to the rapid development of the port, which is continuing to invest in the modernisation of its infrastructure in order to develop its facilities to keep up with the competition.

Maurizio Altieri, general manager, TPS facility in Xiamen, explained that the demand for Terex RTGs in Asia is largely down to the success of the locally based Chinese facility, which is saving customers money and turnaround times for equipment orders.

“Generally speaking, we appreciate that more customers all over the world and especially in Asia continue to rely on our equipment designed and manufactured in our TPS Xiamen facility,” he said.

The cranes for MNHPI have a lifting capacity of 40.6t under spreader. With a hoisting height of 18.1m, they can stack 1-over-5 standard containers and cover six rows of containers and a truck lane thanks to their span of 23.47m.
