‘Future’ dialogue opened by Cargotec

That is the daring view of equipment specialist Cargotec who has launched an inspirational website to gather fresh thinking on the development of the port industry.

Described as the brainchild of “recent difficult times in the shipping industry”, The Port2060 project has been championed by Cargotec’s senior vice president, Port Cranes, Ismo Matinlauri and his team.

“The idea of the project is to be totally open-minded, to encourage everyone –both inside and outside the industry – to look forward, to imagine, to get inspired,” he says. “No idea is too big or small. The simplest of ideas can lead to the most influential changes.”

Cargotec has extended an invite to all to join the discussion about ports of the future at www.cargotec.com/port2060. It aims to use input to create a list of common points that will be developed further by the end of the year.
