Kalmar offers Essential range to Latin America

The series of products was introduced to Latin American customers at the Intermodal South America conference in São Paulo in Brazil, which took place from March 13 to 15.

The launch followed the introduction of the range in the Asia-Pacific region in late 2017, with Kalmar saying that the series has been welcomed by this market.

Products included in the Kalmar Essential range include 12 forklift models, four reachstacker models and empty container handlers offering three lifting capacity options and four mast height options.

All the machines in the series offer a common driver interface, an easy-maintenance electrical system and high-quality components, as well as being compatible with equipment-monitoring and optimisation tool Kalmar SmartFleet.

Commenting on the launch, Erika Barbosa, Kalmar’s vice president for Latin America, said: “The Kalmar Essential range provides customers with everything they expect from Kalmar — including high quality, excellent reliability and efficient performance — at a competitive price.

“Machines are based on a proven common platform, which makes servicing and troubleshooting easier and ensures that parts are readily available.

“It’s also easier for drivers to switch between different machine types thanks to the common operator interface and controls.”
