Kalmar unveils fuel-efficient K-Motion drive train

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has launched a new K-Motion drive train solution for reachstackers in the Asia-Pacific region.

K-Motion will increase efficiency, while reducing fuel consumption

The new solution, embedded into the programming of the Kalmar Gloria reachstacker, promises to increase the efficiency and productivity of reachstackers by improving uptime, ergonomics and safety, while also reducing fuel consumption and, therefore, emissions and running costs.

Featuring a combination of hydrostatic and mechanical technologies, K-Motion delivers a more efficient transmission and allows for a smaller engine, without compromising drive and lift power. This in itself, adds up to a reduction in both fuel consumption and exhaust emissions of as much as 40%.

K-Motion’s smart control system also promises to improve precision in both low and high drive-speed modes by splitting the power. While the improved joystick allows for more precise driving.
