Kalmar wins order from Abu Dhabi Terminals
Kalmar, part of Cargotec, will deliver 14 new Kalmar T2 terminal tractors to Abu Dhabi Terminals’ Khalifa Port Container Terminal (KPCT) later this year.
KPCT is the Middle East’s first semi-automated container terminal.
Neil Watson, chief operating office at Abu Dhabi Terminals, said: “Kalmar’s ability to provide quality, reliable and cost effective machines means they are a natural choice for Abu Dhabi Terminals’ terminal equipment, and we look forward to building on our relationship going forward.”
The Kalmar T2 terminal tractor features reliable, driver focused design, an ergonomic cabin, improved powertrain efficiency and modular construction so as to allow optimised operational performance and low lifetime cost of ownership.
It is designed to operate both in distribution terminals as well as in heavier port operations.
The order was booked in Cargotec’s 2016 second quarter intake. Delivery is scheduled to take place in the beginning of October 2016.
